I started the day off right…with an apple butter crepe and coffee at The Perch!
Then I headed over to Percy Warner Park to run the 11.2 loop through the park with Roy and Malin. This is just a portion of the Flying Monkey Marathon course (November 23). The fall leaves were gorgeous!! (1,203 ft gain)
The race director “Monkey Trent” loves to remind us that you can’t train for The Monkey. Here’s an excerpt from today’s Monkey email…
Nothing burns like the Monkey. But only for a while. Then it gets inside you and starts to fill you up, and after a while you don’t have the strength to fight it. It’s easier just to sit down and go to sleep. They say you don’t feel any pain toward the end. First you go weak and drowsy, and everything starts to fade, and then it’s like sinking into a sea of warm milk. Peaceful, like. Does the Monkey scare you? It should.
Sounds like fun, yes?!!!
Today is Charlotte’s 7th Birthday!!!!
I love this girl SOOOOOO much!
Today, also had a Saucony theme. I was wearing this awesome Find Your Strong long sleeve tee…
When my new NYC Triumph ISO’s arrived!!!!
I’ve read and heard so many great reviews of this shoe.
I can’t wait to take them for a test run!!!
I made a new quinoa recipe for dinner tonight…really good!! I’ll write up the recipe soon, so keep an eye out for it!
Do you celebrate your pet’s birthday? If so, what do you do?
What brand of shoe did you first start running in? What brand do you wear now? My first pair was the Brooks Glycerin. Now I wear the Saucony Kinvara.
What are you having for dinner tonight?
#choosejoy

My very first pair was Adidas that I bought at Nordstrom Rack before I knew anything about getting fitted for shoes. I ran in Mizuno Wave Riders for a while, but now I’m onto the Wave Inspire. What made you switch to Saucony?

I’m [not] patiently awaiting the arrival of my NYC version Kinvaras! I had a huge debate with myself over the Kinvaras versus Triumph. You’ll have to share your thoughts on the Triumph ISO. I love the Saucony special editions.

The special editions are so much fun! The triumphs fit very similarly to the kinvara 5, but with more cushion.

Chopper’s birthday is Valentine’s Day, so we always stay home and cook a nice meal for us and make sure he gets some special birthday treats and toys. Happy Birthday to Charlotte!

Dinner tonight ummm I have no clue lol! Shoes … I started out in Nike’s, then went Adidas for about a year and a half before finally switching to Brooks first it was the Ghosts, then the Green Silence, now I run in Pure Drifts. I been doing the Brooks gig for the past three years and I don’t think I’m going anywhere. Run Happy!!! 🙂

Haha well almost 🙂 it wasn’t by choice though. I battle with PF so it was a lot of searching before I found shoes that work for me. The Green Silence was going to be my lifetime shoe until they discontinued it. Then the Pure Drifts became the perfect replacement. 🙂

My very first pair of running were Puma’s, I can’t even remember the style of the shoe, now I switch it up between my Kinvara’s and my Free Runs.
I had Spaghetti and Meatballs for dinner, that quinoa dish looks delicious! Looking forward to the recipe!

Flying Monkey is oddly appealing in an ultra-like, how hard can you make it way. Looks brutal but those leaves!
What’s the yellow top you’re wearing, I need one!
