7 Years, No Itch

Monday:

We kicked off the day with a 5:30am run.  That calls for coffee!

Can you believe it was already daylight?!!  I love the early summer sunrise!

Early morning light, peonies, and coffee = perfection.

I never drink enough water, so I am loving this fruit water diffuser.  This one had cherries in it!

Track Tuesday:

It was so humid and soupy outside, but we were all smiles during the warmup!  I drank my entire bottle of Cocogo (discount code: JENCHOOSESJOY (all caps) and my post-it fell apart from sweat.

My workout:

4 mile warmup plus a few strides.

6x800m (400m recovery jog)

1 mile cool down

Post run smiles!

In honor of Taco Tuesday…

With Chipotle on the brain, we grilled out and made a chipotle-lime cauliflower…yum!!

And we’re obsessed with this baby bunny that’s living in our backyard.

Elevation gain: 1350ft.  We mixed it up and ran half road and half trails.

It was a wonderful day.  Thank you to everyone for your well wishes!!!!

Married folks…how long have you been married and where was your wedding?

Rumor has it that Chipotle is testing delivery.  Are they delivering in your city?  Have you tried it?

How do you get motivated for early morning run?

  1. Happy Anniversary!! You look so pretty. Love the new Louis. I have been married 14 years, and also got two Louies as anniversary gifts. My 40th bday is this summer and I was hinting for a small one that I can wrap the strap around my chest. He asked if I really need another one:). Friends motivate me to get out early, so much easier that way.

  2. We’ve been married 17 years. We were married at my pastor’s house in Green Hills! It was a simple, small ceremony, 75 people. 🙂

It is not easy to get motivated for early morning, unless I am meeting someone OR if I am leading track. I have to be the motivator (or at least seem excited) for others getting up so early. -Liz

  3. Hi I just stumbled across your blog the other day, so I’m a new reader. Congrats on 7 years. My husband and I celebrate 17 years this August. We actually honeymooned in Nashville. Long story but we were both in the Air Force at the time. I was stationed in Alaska and he was stationed in NC. We were married in PA and stopped through Nashville on our way back to NC for a quick honeymoon. We live in Atlanta now but Nashville is still one of favorite cities.

  4. Happy Anniversary! Your hair was so long in your wedding picture!! And other than shorter hair, you look exactly the same! We’ve been married just over two years now, but together for six. I would just take a Chipotle in town, even if they didn’t deliver!!

  7. Happy Anniversary! We have been married for 10 years and tied the knot at a winery near Santa Barbara, CA.

Where was your wedding? It looks very tropical and beautiful!

Love the bag! Well done, Jason!

  8. Happy Anniversary! I have been married for 22 (almost 23) years! I have been married, longer than I haven’t been married–it was a very big deal to me to hit that milestone!!
The only way I get up super early to run is for a race, or track workouts (meet ups).

  9. Congratulations on 7 years, Jen! I hope y’all had a wonderful time last night and that the bubbles are subsiding (ha!)… 😉 I love all these sweaty faces after your 800s; great job to you and your awesome group! So, you know that Jonathan & I just celebrated 7, as well; we got married here, in Little Rock, at our church. Um, yes, I have heard about this Chipotle delivery business; I think our stores are teaming up with a local delivery service (they work with a number of local restaurants) called Chef Shuttle…augh! I am an early runner like you, so it’s not a problem; now, ask me about later in the day…ugh. Not so much. Have a great day, friend!

  10. It would be a beautiful day if Chipotle started delivering near me! I love running in the early mornings because no matter how the rest of my day goes, I know I will feel great because I have already accomplished something that day! : )

  11. The sweet 16 of my anniversary is tomorrow….lots of ups and downs and moves and changes and 3 kids….and if you make it through it all, it keeps getting better. Congrats to you guys on 7!

  12. Here’s a juicy comment for you… so Andrew and I exchanged rings and vows two October 25ths ago but we couldn’t get legally married yet because get this…he was still trying to get divorced to his wife after FOUR YEARS OF SUPREME COURT BATTLES. Their divorce just went through last Saturday. So, everyone thinks we’re married, but our kids and our close family and friends know we aren’t so it will be really special for us to make it legal (sometime this summer we are going back to the beach where we went on our first date to tie the knot) but guess what? We will always refer to our wedding date to be October 25th because that’s when we married each other in our hearts, minds, and souls. A piece of paper can’t take that away.

    • Oh my gosh…I can’t believe you guys have had to go through that!! I can’t imagine 4 years of divorce crap. I’m so happy that you’re finally able to make it official, but I would celebrate October 25th, too!!!

  13. Congratulations to you both :-). I just love celebrating those special dates! And he sure did a good job with your present!
I will be married 4 years in October. We got married where we live here in WI at a country club. The fall colors were amazing!
Chipotle is not delivering here at this point. Would be awesome if they started!
I get motivated for the early morning runs by envisioning how great I will feel after setting my day off with a run. I also set all of my stuff out the night before so I can just get up and go!

  14. Happy Anniversary! We’ve been married almost 2 years now. Our wedding was in Chicago, where we are from. My favorite thing to do is look back at the wedding photos. It reminds me why I love him so much 🙂
I usually get motivated for a morning run by convincing myself that I’ll feel better and I won’t want to do it after work! But that only works maybe 40% of the time.

  15. Happy anniversary! What a fun celebration! Hubs and I have been married 15 years — we feel like we’ve known each other forever! We got married over Thanksgiving weekend, so it’s always a special time to share together! 🙂 Cheers!

  16. Aw. Happy Anniversary! You guys make such a beautiful couple!

My man and I have been together since 2012; we met in 2006. We don’t have any plans to get married. We’re content where we are. 🙂

I would love to be an early morning runner. It just gets so so hot here, but I have to first become someone that can actually function at such an early hour of the day.

  18. My husband and I will be coming up on our one-year anniversary in September! I love running in the morning because I know it will set the right tone for my whole day. Plus, post-run coffee and breakfast is an excellent motivator!

  19. OMG if Chipotle delivers…that is deadly! My friend told me about this thing called Postmates in Chicago that will deliver from anywhere for $5. I hope Nashville gets this soon!

  20. Happy Anniversary!!! 7 years is a lot to celebrate 🙂
If Chipotle delivered, I’d be in trouble! That’s the only thing that stops me from having it some nights!

  21. Happy Anniversary! Been married 3.5 years (4 in December!!) We married in Hawaii since I lived there at the time!

Motivation for an early monring run. ooof. I NEED some! I teach barre classes at 6:35a then work a full day meaning my early morning runs (should) happen at 4a! Much easier now that the weather is warmer, but I’m still adjusting to alarm clocks set for 3:45! Hope you enjoyed your dinner!!

  22. Congrats on 7 years!!!! That is amazing!!! Mine will be 4 years in July!!! Your wedding photos are beautiful! Love your water infuser to get more water! I struggle with drinking enough water as well, cherry infused water!!! I am totally stealing that idea! Keep rocking!

  23. 19 years last month, got married in our beautiful state supreme court room.

I have been drinking fruit-infused water, too. Lemon, cucumber and mint are my favorites, although I just tried cherries last week, which was great.

I need to learn to be a morning runner.

  24. Happy Anniversary! My husband and I met in college and have been together for 8 years, married for almost 2 and doing it long-distance for 5 of those years (grad school)! We can’t wait to finally live in the same place once I finish up my PhD later this summer.
