Oh Baby!

Wednesday:

I drank the necessary coffee and met up with Corrie and Dave for a trail/road run through Percy Warner Park.

My sweet pup Charlotte had a vet appointment.  I think she knew where we were going and wasn’t willing to smile for her picture.  I would really appreciate any prayers and good mojo that you could send our way.  She hasn’t been feeling well lately.

Thursday:

We had a special Brentwood Breakfast Club baby shower run to celebrate Al’s new baby!  His wife actually went into labor the previous Thursday while he was running with us.

Sappy moment: I am beyond grateful for our run community, friends, tribe.

We tried a new spot in Brentwood…Just Love Coffee.  We all keep calling it ‘Must’ Love Coffee (Freudian slip)!

When I got home, I baked a double batch of Brown Sugar Biscoff Cookies for the Dirtbag Trail Mixer.  This recipe is a winner and I’ll post it soon!

I didn’t want to eat anything too heavy before the run, so I made a Pitaya Bowl.  Isn’t it pretty?!

Fleet Feet had a big turnout for their trail mixer/run!  They host these trail mixers all summer long.  6pm.  Percy Warner Park.  Deep Wells Trailhead.  EVERYONE is welcome!

Abby is the new big sister from the aforementioned baby shower!  She is also a great trail runner!

Friday:

8 mile treadmill run, cheesy #flexfriday pose, and The Perch for breakfast!

I volunteered for a race packet pickup at Fleet Feet for a couple of hours.  The funny part…it was for a beer run and I don’t even drink beer!

Nashvillians: Fleet Feet is going to host a weekly Beer Run every Tuesday at 6pm in the Gulch with specials on local beers!

I also found out this week that I’m an ambassador for San Clemente Cookie Dough Co.  I’m a big fan of their dairy-free, egg-free, and gluten-free Cookie Dough Squeeze pouches!!  Use code: JENCHOOSESJOY for 10% off your order!

Which fruit are loving right now?  Peaches!

Are you a beer drinker?  Ever done a beer race or fun run?

Do you eat before evening runs?  What works best for you?  I typically run in the morning, so running around dinner time always messes me up.

What do you have planned for the weekend?  Races, long runs, Father’s Day?

  1. Congrats on being named Ambassador! 🙂
I’m so sorry to hear your little puppy isn’t feeling well. I’m an LVT (licensed veterinary technician) so my heart goes out. 😦
-Fruits I’m loving: cherries, watermelon and blueberries!
-I DO NOT like beer. Never have never will.
-I am a morning runner as well. Evening runs are difficult for me. If I have to run them. I usually modify what I’m eating throughout the day, so my belly isn’t too full.
-I got my scheduled 6 mile run done this morning so I can get on with my weekend. We are taking my daughter to see “Inside out” today. Sunday I think my husband is going golfing.
Enjoy your weekend! Are you getting any of the storms from Topical storm Bill?

  2. Congrats on becoming an ambassador! Very Cool.
I will pray for your pup! Hope all turns out okay. Its so hard when they get sick- you feel so helpless.
I am currently (still) loving watermelon!
I am not a beer drinker. I have given it a shot several times but just don’t like it. It tends to give me hiccups too, haha.
I can’t remember the last time I ran at night. Well actually, I do and I learned eating dinner before was NOT a good idea!
I ran 6 beautiful miles this morning to my favorite spot and now its last minute prepping for my sister’s bridal shower today.
    Have a great weekend!

  3. I just taught myself to acquire a taste for beer in the last year by going on my own “beer training program.” For father’s day, we are going to go to a local brewery that has a cafe for some beer tasting and dinner.

  4. Fleet Feet Louisville started Monday night beer social group runs, but I’ve yet to participate in the beer portion. Water is good enough for me after a run! Running in the evening for those group runs has been an adjustment for me, too. I’m still figuring out what to eat beforehand, so I’ll be checking back for more comments here!

  5. Oh no! I’m sorry to hear Charlotte is feeling well. 😦 She’s in my thoughts, and I hope she starts feeling better soon!

    And, let’s see…

I’ve been loving everything watermelon lately!

I do not like beer, and ironically enough when I started running, my dad, bother, and I did hash runs. Where they only serve beer at the half-way point, plus a couple extras once you finish. I didn’t drink beer and my brother wasn’t old enough, so… my dad was not driving home from those runs. 😉

  6. Oh, my gosh; we just finished your Summer Fruit Salad (it was nearly ALL eaten and I’m kind of sad about that – ha!) for a Father’s Day dinner; SO GOOD! So, that’s the fruit I’m loving right now. I had a mile race yesterday that was super-fun! I do like a cold beer in the summer time, but I’ve never been on a beer run; I’m not sure I could handle it, but it might be fun to watch! 😉 I have no idea what to eat before an evening run; on the rare days that I decide to run after work (around 5pm), I just eat a Picky Bar around an hour before and that seems to work okay. I hope you’re having a great weekend, Jen, and congrats on your new ambassadorship – who doesn’t love cookie dough?!?
