#LikeAGirl and January Miles

First, if you tried to get in touch with me on Sunday…I wasn’t ignoring you.
My (3 month old) iPhone 6 crashed. The screen just went red and it turned off. Thank you 8lb, 6 oz baby Jesus for the iCloud! It had automatically backed itself up Saturday night. The, the Apple Store “genius” looked at it for a few seconds and gave me a new phone, no questions asked…awesome!!  However, I’m still in the process of trying to restore it…fingers crossed.

Thursday:

Leah, my PT, “suggested” that I not run Thursday or Friday so I could do my long run on Saturday.  I trust her and do as I’m told:)

Early 23 miles on the bike.

IMG_3393

And I met up with the Brentwood Breakfast Club

IMG_3394

To celebrate Michael’s last run with the group.  He’s moving:(

IMG_3392

IMG_3395

It’s tough to read, but our gift to him was an engraved frame that read My Tribe and 6run5 🙂

IMG_3398

One of the perks of being on the Rock n Blog Team is I get a discount code to share with you!!  Code: JENCHOOSESJOY is good for $15 off ALL Rock n Roll half and full marathons!!!!  Share it with your friends!

Thursday night: I got to do my first ever blogger meet-up with two Nashville fitness bloggers!  After following their blogs, it was SO much fun to meet Karina and Mary and person!  We had cocktails at No. 308 and talked about running, our favorite gyms, lots of FOOD, and brainstormed about ways to work together in the future!

IMG_3405

Friday:

IMG_3402

Wakey, Wakey Crepes and Coffee…that kind of rhymes, yes?!

IMG_3401

I headed back to the gym to bike some more.  Oh the irony of wearing a Run Happy shirt on the spin bike.  I was happy because I knew I would get to do a long run on Saturday!

IMG_3404

Thanks to everyone for the sore throat advice:  I’ve been drinking my honey tea and went to the doctor for a cortisone shot.

IMG_3397

And of course, soup for dinner with grilled focaccia!

IMG_3403

Long run prep:

IMG_3407

Saturday:

IMG_3406

15 miles pacing my Fleet Feet Nashville Country Music Marathon Training Group!!

IMG_3409

I’m happy to report that I had zero Achilles pain during my run.  It got tight and creaky afterwards, so I’m still not 100%, but it’s getting SO much better!

IMG_3408
Sunday:

IMG_4190

And then…my iphone crashed and, so I don’t have anymore photos until that night.

Super Bowl Highlight: This ad…

because I RUN #LikeAGirl

IMG_3391-0

It also gave me the courage to post my January Miles.  Due to injury, I ran my lowest monthly mileage since I started tracking it (133 mile LESS than last month, but who’s counting).  I’m definitely not thrilled with it, but I worked really hard for these miles.

IMG_3411

It was definitely a full weekend!  It’s a new week, it’s a new month…Go Get ‘Em!!!!

IMG_3412

Questions:

Weekend peak? Long run with my training group!

Pit? My phone crashing.

Who were you cheering for in the Super Bowl?  Favorite Super Bowl ad? I didn’t really care about the game, but I read that the white jerseys statistically win the Super Bowl, so I cheered for the Patriots.  Favorite ad: Always #LikeAGirl

Which Rock N Roll Races are you running this year?  Nashville, Virginia Beach, and Vegas

Coffee on a Camel

I drink my Monday coffee on a camel.  Don’t you?

IMG_3114

With coffee in ‘toe’, let’s catch up!  Sorry…couldn’t resist a camel toe joke.  What’s wrong with me?!

Thursday

After a week off, I was so excited to run with the Brentwood Breakfast Club!  I’ve been using the heating pad before runs to loosen up my achilles.

IMG_3116

6 miles without any pain.  We had lots of talk about ‘Sassy Pants’ on our run!

IMG_3115

and breakfast afterwards with these awesome friends!

IMG_3117

IMG_3089

I also had another PT session with Leah at ProMotion for some more ASTYM treatment.  It’s really helping me!  As I ease back into running, Leah has me on an every other day schedule.

Hi, my name is Jennifer and I’m addicted to Organic Girl Lettuce.  I now buy it by the case.

IMG_3102

For dinner, I made homemade tomato soup with cauliflower crust cheese sticks…so good!  I’ll post the recipe soon.

IMG_3111

Friday

RUNEMZ had this Virginia Woolf quote on her IG page…love it!  She won 1st female in the Coldwater Rumble 100-miler this weekend.  What an inspiration!!

IMG_3090

I hit up the gym to spin and lift.  It took me a while to notice that the bike mileage got stuck, so I’m not 100% sure how far I ran.

IMG_3094

Came home to another encouraging post-it:)

IMG_3095

Jason and I set down for dinner to look over plans for my blog…SO EXCITING!!

IMG_3096

Friday night coffee prep means that I finally get to go for a Saturday morning long run!!!

IMG_3097

Saturday

I paced the Fleet Feet Country Music Marathon 4 hour training group for their long run.  My heart was SO happy and I didn’t have any Achilles pain…woo hoo!!

IMG_3098

Also it snowed!!

IMG_3099

And there was a little (ok, maybe a lot) of ice, but no one fell!  They did however rap!

IMG_3101

Fleet Feet passed out our new training shirts…so cute!

IMG_3104

Saturday afternoon, our friends were celebrating their daughter’s 2nd birthday!  How cute is this?!!  I was excited to buy Frozen presents.  And, that cupcake was delicious and lasted 30 seconds.

IMG_3103
Sunday

I woke up with a sore throat:(

I tried to push through it with the breakfast of champions…

IMG_3106

and a gym workout: 21 miles on the bike and weights.

IMG_3107

I still felt crappy, so I actually took a nap (crazy!  I actually wrote a post about ‘How to Nap’) and had some soup for lunch.

IMG_3113

I’m about to knock myself out with this Mucinex Night Time…hopefully that will do the trick and I’ll feel like a million bucks in the morning:)

IMG_3119

IMG_3105

IMG_2759

Side note: I am so grateful for all of the incredible women in my life.  You ladies ROCK!

IMG_2764

I went back to PT and agreed that I would take a break from running for the next week:(  Hopefully a little break now will help my achilles heal.

Friday:

23 spin bike miles and I came home to this post-it!  I obviously married my husband for his artistic abilities.

IMG_2762

I’ve been a little bummed about my time off from running and he surprised me with these beautiful flowers!!!

IMG_2768

I saw the 2015 Boston Marathon jacket.  Appearently, the purple is causing quite a stir!  It could be neon paisley and I would proudly wear it!

IMG_2760

I joined the new 2015 Fleet Feet Racing Team for a little mixer.  There’s a whole lot of fast in this picture!!

IMG_2766
